HOTEL RESERVATIONS: A block of rooms has been pre-booked at Hotel La Residenza in Capri. You are kindly requested to make your direct reservation by May 20th at the latest. Your reservation will be guaranteed by an advanced payment of 200,000 Italian Lire (to be made by bank transfer or by credit card). As July is during the touristic high season in Capri, rooms cannot be guaranteed after May 20th.

WORKSHOP LOCATION: Capri is a small, nice island in the famous gulf of Naples, one of the most attractive towns in Southern Italy. Greeks and Romans first populated the island, which is well known as a spectacular natural setting, for the sunny climate, and for the wealth of historic sites. Following the example of the Roman emperor Tiberius, who built there his mansion, many VIPs moved to Capri to enjoy its beauty, and made it famous in the world. The hotel "La Residenza" is located in a nice position close to the main village of Capri, not far from the Faraglioni rocks.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION: Daily flights connect Naples International Airport with the most important European hubs.

From the airport, a blue bus (CLP society) leaves to the harbor every fifty minutes from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.; the bus stop is located just in front of the main airport exit. The time for reaching the harbour can vary from half an hour to one hour depending on the day time. The bus ticket (5,000 Lire) can be purchased from the bus driver. Ferries and hydrofoils for Capri leave from the pear named Molo Beverello. Taxis from the airport to the harbor are also available, and their price is about 40,000 Lire.

Ferries and hydrofoils link Naples to Capri in about 40 to 60 minutes. The price for the one-way ticket is about 16,000 Lire for hydrofoils and 9,800 Lire for ferries (find all the information concerning timetable and shipping lines here. - Travel Center - Shipping service in the bay).

From the small Capri harbor, a funicular service carries people to the village in about 10 minutes for 1,500 Lire. The funicolar station is just in front of the pear. A bus service is also available (find all the information concerning timetable at www.capri.it. - Travel Center - Bus timetable).

Any hotel in Capri is located less than 2 minutes walking time from the village center (named La Piazzetta), where the funicular leaves you.
