Welcome Reception
The Welcome Reception will be held at l’eclozr on July 3rd in the evening.
1 Rue du Général Maurice Guillaudot, 35000 Rennes. Get there in (~28 min) from the Inria Centre.
The buses C4 (towards Grand Quartier) and C6 (towards Aeroport) at Tournebride (~7 min from Inria), will take you to the Musée Beaux Arts stop (~10 min). From there, you get to l’Eclozr in ~11 min , or you can go to Place Pasteur (~3 min ) and take the C1 bus to Fossée (~3 min ).
From both Republique and Sainte-Anne metro A stops, you can walk for ~10 minutes (from “Sainte-Anne”, the road is flat, from “Republique” a bit steeper).

15:15 – Transfer to Mont-Saint-Michel through privatized shuttles
15:30 – Meeting with tour guides and group split: 2 English-speaking groups 1 French-speaking group
16:00 – 17:30 – Tour of Mont-Saint-Michel and its abbey
18:00 – Meeting at the foot of Mont-Saint-Michel to take a group photo of IOLTS 2024 attendees
18:15 – Transfer back to Parking (P7) through privatized shuttles
18:30 – Departure to Apigné Castle
19:45 – Arrival at Apigné Castle and welcome Cocktail
20:45 – Gala Dinner
23:15 – Bus back to Rennes City Center and Inria Campus
Social Event
IOLTS24’s social event will be an excursion to Mont Saint Michel on the afternoon of July 4th. After lunch, private buses will take the participants from the conference venue to Mont Saint Michel.
Mont Saint-Michel is an iconic tidal island located off the coast of Normandy, France. It is renowned for its stunning medieval architecture, particularly the abbey that crowns its rocky pinnacle. The island is connected to the mainland by a causeway, which is submerged during high tide, creating a sense of isolation and mystique. Mont Saint-Michel has a rich history dating back to the 8th century when it was established as a monastery. Over the centuries, it evolved into a major pilgrimage site and a formidable fortress. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most visited landmarks in France, attracting millions of tourists each year. Its picturesque silhouette against the backdrop of the sea and surrounding salt marshes makes it a truly breathtaking sight.

Gala Dinner at Apigné Castle
IOLTS 2024 Gala Dinner will be held at the Apigné Castle (Château d’Apigné) on July 4th evening. The restaurant is located in Le Rheu, 3 km west of Rennes. Private buses will take the participants to the castle, after the social activities.
A little bit of history: The seigneury of Apigné belonged to the Apigné family 1050. Its lords founded a priory in 1268 on the right bank of the Vilaine and gave it to the Abbey of St Melaine in Rennes. The current château was built from 1833 onwards by the Nové-Josserand family, who owned a brickworks on the Apigné moors. Like many buildings of this type, the Château was occupied during the Second World War by the Germans, the militia and the Resistance. In the 1960s, the Château was divided into flats, and in 1985 the Rennes Lorient expressway cut through a large part of the grounds. Acquired in 1989 by the Khan-Renault family, the property has been restored and transformed into a venue for receptions and business meetings.
